Allow us to start you off with a few suggestions. Now go out and explore!
Kensington Market
A visit to Toronto isn’t complete without experiencing the multiculturalism that so epitomizes the city. Kensington is certainly somewhere where this is evident – a feast for the eyes and pallet! Certainly appealing for the explorer in all of us – whether it be for food or that special something. If you’re hungry for even more culture take a walk through the adjacent Chinatown, there is much to be discovered!
Niagara Falls
If this is your first time in the area, Niagara Falls is not to be missed! Arguably one of the best natural wonders of the world and better from the Canadian side :) It is well worth the trip. Note: the town of Niagara Falls has become somewhat touristy. After a good dose of the falls we recommend travelling about 15 minutes further to the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. This sweet little town has lot’s of little shops and is a great place to stop for a cup of tea – or if you are feeling rather grand, Afternoon Tea. It is also home to the Shaw Festival which puts on plays at a relatively affordable cost throughout the summer in different theatres throughout the town.
Toronto Island
This a great place to go if you’re looking for a relaxing day. Take the 10 minute ferry across Lake Ontario to Toronto's Centre Island (Fares and schedules can be found here http://www.toronto.ca/parks/island/ferry-schedule.htm ). Here you can enjoy a great view of the city from both the water and the island. Bring your bathing suit and enjoy the beaches! Or take a walk along the many paths along the water. Bring a bike along (or even better, rent a tandem!) and explore the whole island. This also happens to be the place where Peter and Brianna started dating!
Queen Street West
If shopping is what you are after, this is the place you should be. Both box and independent shops line the street. And when you’ve shopped til you are about to drop – land in one of the many ethnically diverse (and delectable) cafes and restaurants.
CN Tower
As the tallest free standing structure in the world the CN Tower is an iconic image for the City of Toronto. On a clear day it offers fantastic panoramic views of the city. Definitely not to be missed is the glass floor in the tower which can withstand the weight of 14 large hippos! If you are looking for a fancy meal, the revolving restaurant at the top of the tower is a perfect choice.
Niagara Wineries
Combine your visit to Niagara Falls with a stop at one or more of the numerous renowned wineries in the Niagara area. There is a reason for Peter’s hometown being called ‘vine-land’. They are so lovely that Peter chose to propose at one of them!
St Lawrence Market
If you are an early bird and are looking for something to do on Saturday morning before the wedding this is a great place to go. Prepare to be bombarded by lot’s of edible goodies (including many free samples :) not to mention crafty creations. Be sure not to miss the famous Canadian Peameal Bacon on a bun! Note: There are two buildings containing the North and South Market which have permanent and visiting vendors.
